Camping Nausicca – Still at Castellammare del Golfo

Lazy day at a fab campsite. This mornings phone call with Jordan was interrupted by a really nice Scottish couple scraping their motorhome against a tree whilst parking. They managed to remove the bumper completely in the process and both stood with head in hands, so the helpful ex-fireman replaced the light cluster and fastened the bumper back together for them. Makes you realise how easy it is to do….certainly something I’d be capable of!!😂
Got loads of washing done whilst Rufus enjoyed stretching out in the shade. At about 4pm, we asked him politely if he’d sit in the van with the fan on while we ran to the beach and had our first swim. It was more of a wave battering than a swim but the sea was so warm….bellisimo! Rufus came for a walk on the beach later once it had cooled off. Decided to have a Friday pizza in town. Castellammare is quite a busy place at night, so there was a good atmosphere in the seaside restaurant. This was helped along by the accordion player attempting the theme tune from the Godfather….he certainly ‘made it his own’ by dropping a note in a Les Dawson style every now and then. We decided to start our diet by having just one Tiramisu and two spoons! Then, we gave the waitress a laugh by asking for a cork for the bottle of wine so that we could take it home. ‘Certainly’ she said, but by the time she came back two minutes later we’d drunk it all! There’s no hope!
