We were going to give this place a miss as it didn’t sound very inspiring in the Rough Guide. So glad we didn’t, it’s a really nice city, especially down by the port. Paid 3 euros to park to some man that probably has nothing whatsoever to do with the place but comes and takes people’s money everyday 😆 – he did help us back in to the tiniest of parking spaces. The amphitheatre was closed for repairs but looked like there was nothing happening fast. We walked into the older part of town – shorts and t shirts on, standing out like sore thumbs against the Spanish in their winter coats …it was around 20c! Bad timing, as it was lunchtime, and you can only pass so many plates of tapas without joining in. Calamari and patatas bravas (fish n chips 😉) – was really nice. Walked back along the port where there were some really good sculptures. Made our way then towards a lighthouse at Cabo de Palos overlooking La Manga. We can’t believe this long strip of land lined with high rise hotels …it looks like New York from over here. D0A4BCBF-9772-4EE6-934B-012A5DBB46A1
