Straight up the road to Huesca this morning, and a final pit stop in Lidl (more wine 🍷 😳), then on to Sabiñánigo for LPG before we run out completely.
From there, we followed the route up into the Pyrenees and stopped in one of our old favourite places, the Embalse de Búbol, a giant reservoir surrounded by snow capped mountains.

It was quite a struggle to get walking boots on – it felt like they were a size too small at first. Set off up the hill opposite, on what was a surprisingly scenic walk. Very uphill at first, but rewarded with a lovely waterfall – Barranco Gargol. It was nice and warm in the sunshine and I was glad we took advantage of it before driving higher up as it’s now very cold at the Col.

Just on the border with France, which seems to have come around really quickly. Picture postcard views of the mountains all around us and it’s so quiet you could hear a pin drop…or even the temperature. 2° forecast. Bring out the winter duvet!
