Had a few days in Magnan at Guy’s parents with another Christmas dinner – you can’t have too many really!

Set off this morning in a much warmer temperature on a route through Pau and up into the Pyrenees.

Stopped for lunch in Oloron-Sainte-Marie, but Guy didn’t want to leave the van as he didn’t like the look of the place. There were a few marginals around I suppose 😬🤣

Carried on up into the snow line but although I think they’ve had quite a bit, it was more like slush in most places and the roads were completely clear.

We got to Canfranc Station mid afternoon and the weather was grim. Grey cloud and rain but not really cold.

The beautiful old railway station here, formally opened in 1928, was virtually derelict when we last came through but funding by the European Union has enabled complete restoration and it’s now a posh hotel. Meanwhile, a new station has been built in front of it and trains are now running again in the area.

After a few photos in the snow, we had a little walk down the Main Street where we narrowly avoided the magnetic pull of ‘chocolate con churros’. Phew! 😥
