Seemed like a long drive today – we can tell we’re not used to doing much distance at the moment! Think it was about 150 miles so probably £600 in diesel! 😂🙄😂
Actually, there’s been a slight reprieve in Spain. The government has taken 20 centimes off per litre, although all the garages put their prices up shortly before it happened! Saw our first €2 per litre today! 🫣
After we came past Lleida on the motorway, there was a very strange looking sky – kind of brownish cloud. The digital road signs said something about contamination which was a bit alarming. After a bit of research, we think it was pollution/smog – the area is known for it apparently. Held our breath anyway as our lungs are probably still full of Saharan sand!
After a few hours of flat uneventful scenery, the Monserrat rocks appeared out of nowhere. Couldn’t decide where best to park, and after a little walk around the town of Monistrol de Montserrat, we came back down the road to park at the cable car station. Still deciding what to do tomorrow – the abbey looks very high up and it’s three hours walk, or we could cable car or get the train. Decisions, decisions .🤔
