77AD4EE1-879C-4D50-8C17-08612F16BBD1We’ve come to this famous gorge near El Chorro, but it’s been against all odds today. First, the road was closed en route so we had to do a big detour round. Then we didn’t know which entrance we were supposed to head for and we knew the chances of getting a ticket were minimal. Couldn’t find anywhere to park and there were coaches everywhere blocking the narrow roads. Eventually, we managed to pull in at the side of a beautiful reservoir with blue/green water. We thought we were miles from the entrance but found a short cut tunnel to the ticket office about 3km away.
Tickets seemed to be completely sold out online and we’d read that there are sometimes a few spares available on the day. By the time we’d sorted out the right place to be ..it was closed! 🙄😂
Apparently, we need to be there at 8:30 in the morning…not sure I want to be 100 metres up on a scary walkway at that time in a morning. Supposedly it’s all been refurbished now with fences and handrails etc…it must be ok as Tui are bringing coach loads here.
Spent the rest of the afternoon watching ducks on the lake …it seems their main source of food is crisps provided by the local restaurant. No dog of the day today,so here’s duck of the day instead.
