We had a visit from a friendly policeman this morning. It took us ages to work out what he wanted but after a few hand signals, it seemed he just wanted us to turn the van around the other way – even though the car park was empty. The Guardia Civil came along next and they all stood chatting..think they were short of work in these lovely mountain villages!
Set off quite early for Zahara. Hairpin bends and spectacular scenery all the way. We came down to a big lake and nearly missed the town altogether but managed to park at the last minute. Walked up through the streets to the top – it was beautiful, but very steep again.
On to Olvera then, where there was good motorhome parking right at the bottom of another very steep hill. Walking back up was exhausting 🤣, then we carried on up to the castle, went in, and climbed more steps for spectacular views. There was an empty museum with some odd stuff in it …I had a go on the model horse – I’m not sure if I was supposed to or not but there were steps at the back of it so it looked like an invitation.
Staggering back down the road, Guy thought it’d be a good idea to walk up to a statue on a rock to get another picture of the castle and church. I had to have a lie down at this point. My spy phone says I’ve done 75 floors so surely I should be fit by now …
Fit to drop methinks!
