This morning, in a vain attempt to hurry me up, Guy subjected me to a grand listening of Finlandia…to me, it sounded like Mars from the Planet Suite by Holst. If you’re all wondering how I know such things …thanks Mr Wooding from Beauvale Junior School – bored us rigid with it for four years!
Today’s mission was to find the cheapest crossing to Finlandia 😉. We got tickets for the 6:30 Eckero line which gave us the afternoon to further explore Tallinn. Had a walk round the city walls but it only went for 200 metres. More mediaeval music and dancing in the square which was rammed with people from the cruise ships.
Queued up early for the ferry which is also like a cruise ship and full of Finns on a booze cruise. ZZ Top look-a-likes all fully loaded with fags, beer & vodka. Struggled to find seats and Guy caused major panic to one American lady as he went to get a chair – “Grab it! Grab it NOW” she shouted at her son. 🤣🤣🤣We wandered round aimlessly, then played I Spy -did both S words (sea & sky) , still an hour to go!
In Helsinki now, parked near the sea with a few others watching all the electric scooters glide past. See blurred photo of first view of Helsinki 🙄
