Same place for two days again! Dad’s wondering if someone has nicked the wheels. 😂 Truth is, it was pouring with rain this morning so we decided to make use of the laundry in the car park and get a load washed and dried. Of course, by the time we’d washed it, the sun was out with a cool breeze – it would’ve been so perfect to string a washing line between the two palm trees, but it is a car park after all so probably best if we didn’t. 😂

The plan was for an easy day, having done 9.5 miles yesterday..mostly uphill. Thought we’d walk back into the town and maybe look for some new trainers for Guy. Then, we suddenly realised it was Sunday and most of the shops are closed.

Plan B, walk around the eastern side of the rock as we’d seen a couple of nice beaches from the top. Have to say, it was awful! We followed the road around, rubbish everywhere, construction work all over the place, some of it abandoned. Everything else looked like it needed a coat of paint or a bit of tlc.

We seemed to pass the two beaches in no time, and someone was talking about what an achievement it would be to walk right around the rock! 🙄His plans were suddenly scuppered when we came to a tunnel at the far end which said ‘No pedestrians beyond this point’. Had to walk all the way back along the same road ☹️and then did a detour across the town to check out Morrisons diesel price – £1:34…might be worth the queue in the morning.

By the time we got back to the van, our feet were dying. Another 9.5 miles – so much for an easy day. We had some of Lidl’s finest sea bass, then sat like a pair of zombies watching junk tv – until, that is, a notice came up saying “Battery is low. TV will power down shortly”. Cold shower in the morning then – unless we run the engine for a while ? Sure that’ll be popular with the neighbours. 🤣

Houseboats for hire near the port.
Gibraltar Again!
