Continued south along the coast this morning, although we couldn’t really see anything of it. The nice, smooth, roads are full of chicanes, humps and roundabouts – a bit like Milton Keynes, causing the driver to get just a little bit frustrated.🤯
Fortunately, a distraction was just around the corner in the form of the ‘Alignements de Kerzerho’. We just came across them at the side of the road, some really impressive megaliths or standing stones. I am glad we saw these rather than the ones at Carnac, we didn’t really fancy tickets and guided tours etc. They date from 5000 to 2000BC and you have to wonder how on earth they got them there.

We then drove on to the Quiberon peninsula; the long causeway seemed to go on forever and we contemplated turning around, but then the wild and rugged Côte Sauvage came in to view. It looked a lot like Cornwall but with even more people walking along the coastal path. We had lunch with a spectacular view and had a walk in the hot sunshine. A little tourist train came past, not full of children this time of year, but pensioners! 😂

More tedious roads followed as we made our way to Vannes. No parking anywhere – the place is full of height barriers. Nearest motorhome site – full. Found a site further down the coast which said it had spaces. I went to pay at the machine which promptly issued not one, but four flimsy tickets which instantly blew down the road on the breeze. After I’d chased them all down, I finally managed to get the bar code to open the barrier – they don’t make things easy here! I think we’ll try and walk into Vannes tomorrow!
