Bit cold and grey this morning so we decided to head inland to Guadalest. Unfortunately, Guy had Google maps set up for cycling. We only realised this once we’d done several miles up a single track windy road. 🙄It has felt really strange today, as we know the names of all the places we’ve been to as Callum came here a few years ago on a cycling training camp. Guadalest castle was really good with amazing views all the way round.
We had to pay to go inside the castle bit before you could get outside to see the views….some very strange stuff in there!
After lunch, we decided on a scenic drive with the idea of coming back along the Jalon valley. We’ve been through Gorga, Quatrotondeta, Castell de Castells, Tabena, Parcent, then finally ended up here in Jalon. Guy had it in his head that it was a thirty odd minute drive …it took all afternoon. It was very scenic, at times hair raising, but mostly like a serpentine scalextric track. Rufus and I were both feeling a little queasy by the end of it. Everything seems to be closed in Jalon – there’s probably some festa or other going off that we’ve missed. 😆💤
