9A41FE38-5699-4746-8700-98B6F0D3786ADrove a little way down the road this morning to a campsite which is close to the ferry that we’ll be getting tomorrow. Checked in, parked in front of the sea, and got our three loads of washing on.
Although the forecast wasn’t great, the sun came out and it was hot. When we asked if we could put a washing line up, I don’t think the campsite manager had any idea how long it would be! 😂

We had a walk on to the jetty and watched an old couple get in the freezing cold water for a mini swim. We’d both dipped our hand in and decided ‘no way!’ I could see it was praying on Guy’s mind though. Two minutes later, the swim shorts were on and he was in! Swimming inside the Arctic Circle- how mad is that? He only lasted about a minute, but then told the next pensioner getting ready to go in that it was ‘lovely and warm’ !😉😂 Me? Well, I didn’t like the look of that jellyfish. 🤔07E4CF4B-8949-407B-9F40-63CBD3FE699C
Guy got talking to a Dutch man and his son who had caught three large cod. He asked how the man intended to cook the fish, at which point the man (Jan) offered to bring us some later!9744A794-2106-4BFA-95C6-78BE8FA1F7EE
After basking in the sun for the rest of the afternoon, we set off for a bit of a ramble along a nature trail. Nice walk, but had to come back the same way as it looked like a dead end.
At 7:30pm, as promised, Jan turned up with a plate of cod goujons and some homemade remoulade – WOW! Beautifully cooked in crisp batter, the best cod I’ve ever had! 8384EED2-51FD-491C-AB8D-6FAFF866D9C3
Felt so bad, as our fridge is now empty and we had nothing to give in return. We went to say thank you and take the plate back and then got invited to have a glass of wine with them. They were a really lovely family and we really enjoyed their company. Our two day run without alcohol has come to an end …what a shame.😬
