This morning we had a look in the Rough Guide to Germany for this little ‘Van Gogh’ village called Nuenen, as we thought we’d have a walk in. It wasn’t listed…funny that, as we were in Holland!!! Guy has a cold, and I didn’t sleep – that’s our excuse anyway.
We decided to do a drive by in the end and glad we did as it wasn’t very exciting.
Most of the day was then spent getting across Germany’s industrial heartland – very flat and not much to see except factories and storage units. The motorways were crisscrossing each other every few minutes. It was quite windy, lots of traffic and narrow lanes – good job Herr Bramley is a competent driver – I certainly couldn’t have tackled it!

We eventually found ourselves in Hamelin, a lovely town with some very old buildings in. Lots of places selling rats – stuffed furry ones or even made of bread! Thought about having a drink, but it’s not particularly warm, so after walking around in circles four times, we made out way back to our €8 stellplatz for the night. When we arrived earlier, I cheerfully said ‘Hola’ to the German man next door – there’s no hope for me – I haven’t a clue where I am! 😂
