Early start this morning. We even managed to get on an earlier train through the tunnel too. Packed up most of the stuff while we were under the sea. Up to the M25 where it said there were long delays to the M1 so, we thought we’d do the A1 instead, except, of course, we missed the turning!! šŸ™„ Fortunately, the congestion cleared quickly so we were back in Nottingham for lunch. Dropped in on Mum and Dad to surprise them – doesn’t seem like 3 months, 6400miles since we said goodbye! Home to unload mid afternoon and there was far more stuff than we thought. The car started first time which is miraculous – just needs to get through an mot tomorrow! We are like a pair of zombies now – think it’s the hour time difference. The bungalow seems huge and Rufus is very happy. We’ve loved crazy, mad, Italy except for the roads and the rubbish. Still lots that we missed but we’d need a smaller vehicle to do those bits! Thanks to anyone who read my ramblings, or looked at Guy’s pictures. Back again sometime in August hopefully for the Scandinavian adventure. TTFN šŸ‘‹ 2486CA98-4B7F-4BF8-99B6-C33E5765F01F

  1. Hi there. Glad to see you made it home safely and that Rufus is enjoying his space! We so agree with you about Italy/Sicily. Our vans are really too big for some of the places we wanted to go. Scrapped plan to go to Slovenia as weather forecast was for thunder and lightning storms. Now basking in sunshine just outside Pula. Not sure what our next move will be. Stephen’s mum has taken a turn for the worse (she has Alzheimer’s and lives in a home) and is at present in hospital with pneumonia, so our plans are on hold for time being. On nice site at moment….Stephen away to watch the Croatia match…..already watched England beating Sweden. I’m giving it a miss. I think I’ll watch some paint drying!
Hope the graduation went well and you didn’t need any umbrellas. All things being equal, we expect to be home around 8 August. Will look out for your next adventure blog. Cheers, Catherine.
