Couple of hours drive this morning and we were into Prague. Got stung at the border buying a vignette as it was cash only. How clever, we only had Euros, which you can use but the exchange rate is diabolical. What should have been £9 cost us more like £15! The scenery changed almost immediately. Everything seemed a bit scruffier really, but then we are comparing it to Germany which is extremely well organised, neat and tidy. Stopped at a little town just off the motorway to try and find a cash machine. Had to ask in the supermarket; they were very friendly and helpful considering we don’t speak a single word of their language. The search for sites app gave us the wrong co-ordinates again and we ended up going uphill to the river which did seem wrong. Back on track, we got ourselves on a campsite on an island in the middle of the river with free water taxi across to the city centre. The gardener told us to park wherever and come to reception in an hour when in might be open! No passport check and they don’t know how much it’ll be!!!Had a nice shady spot under a tree. Just having lunch when something went splat all over my chair. Birds in the tree – when it happened again we moved. Left Rufus asleep with the fan on and got the boat across the river. Not much health and safety going on – could’ve fell out so easily! The city was much bigger than anticipated. We’ve walked about five miles! So much to see – really stunning skyline, bridges and architecture. Also, it’s crazy mad with people of all nationalities. Can see why they come here for stag & hen weekends. The street artists were quite funny, in that they pretended to be statues one minute then knocked off for a fag the next. 😂 When we got back and walked Rufus along the river, we realised all the party boats were coming up and down right next to the campsite….gonna be a wild night!
