Long and winding drive over the Brenner Pass today, again avoiding the toll road. The crazy driving started to emerge almost as soon as we passed into Italy 🤣
The Dolomites are always so impressive to drive through – the peaks look as though they are razor sharp. We tried to park in Ortisei as Guy wanted to get the cable car up to Seceda. There was no chance – these ski places seem to be just as popular in summer.
In the end we saved a fortune by driving a little further up the Paso Gardena. Loads of good trails to walk up and really amazing views, so the boots and stick got an airing!
Now parked up for free with a panoramic view of the mountains. There’s been a clap of thunder and now it’s tipping down with fat rain and hail 🙄🌩💦…I’ll fill some buckets to bring home!
