We decided to come south to the Pelion Peninsula today in the hope of some warmer weather. It was another very long drive, but we spotted this campsite last year and thought it looked really nice so we can have a few days rest.

The ring road around Thessaloniki wasn’t too bad – it being a Sunday. We first remarked on the fact that there were no police around – then we saw loads. Then Guy said ‘hardly any cyclists’ and we saw a whole pack of them. Both tried saying ‘there are no piles of cash at the side of the road’….didn’t work!☹️

Stopped for lunch on a promenade in a tiny seaside spot called Makrygialos. Couldn’t perfect the Sunday slow walk along the seafront ..I think you need a packet of fags to stroll along at that speed!

Finally reached the campsite and received a very warm welcome from one of the owners. Then it became just a little bit too intense as they decided to come out and ‘help’ us park. It was a nightmare as the ground was uneven and every man and his dog was trying to give Guy directions. We persuaded them to let us park the other way around in the end – the sensible way! Quick walk along the seafront and just about to eat outside. Convincing myself it’s warm …it nearly is, but not quite!
