A two centre day …ready for bed now and it’s not even seven o clock! Is this because we’re getting old? 🤣
Had a walk around Kotor again this morning. The fortified town is in such a lovely setting surrounded by limestone cliffs. It’s always completely overrun with cruise-shippers, day-trippers and of course, cats! Its narrow, travertine paved streets are lovely, but once they start to echo with the sound of Americans trying to out-do each other, it’s time for a hasty retreat.

Said goodbye to our friendly car park owner, then set off around the lake.
The driver has to keep his eyes glued to the narrow road that hugs the cloverleaf shaped bay of Kotor, despite the distractions of the stunning scenery. Cars pop out from nowhere and coaches come around the bends at warp speed.

Managed to park in a tiny lay-by for lunch after purchasing one of the giant loaves of bread for sale in the pekara. Still warm, tears off in big hunks – defo not fattening at all.
On to the border, through in minutes, and in no time at all we were parked up on a hill, high above Dubrovnik’s old town.
We’ve done this before – the walk down is great, the walk back up is a killer! Still, we have covered Guy’s favourite town once again, from one end to the other.
Would have liked to walk the city walls again but at €35 each there’s nil chance of that happening, but it’s just lovely to wander around its pristine limestone streets which have been polished to a shine by a gazillion feet. At the far end of town, where it hits the sea, there was extra entertainment today as people tried to walk around the edge of a very rough sea, dodging the waves.

Toyed with the idea of having an expensive drink, but glad we didn’t as it was pitch black within minutes of us getting back. Might not have found our home in the dark!
