Late get up = late leaving the campsite. Still blowing a gale, but it calmed down almost as soon as we turned inland. Our aim was to get within an hours striking distance of Marrakesh but the only area with any interest was back towards the mountains.

Came through some interesting towns today – most of them resembling Mogadishu.
One place, I think it was called Had Draa, was particularly rough and ready. Even as we were approaching through the countryside, heaps of plastic rubbish started to appear. In the town itself there just seemed to be people and animals surrounded by rubbish blowing up and down the street.
The next town along was suddenly full of horse and carriages of the covered variety – very different. A lot of the women here had full face veils – even their eyes were covered.

It’s been another driving day but once again full of ever changing scenery.
This morning, we were among green meadows absolutely full of wild flowers, then by lunchtime we were back in the desert, albeit the stony variety.

By mid afternoon we can see the snow capped Atlas Mountains again.

We’ve come past a huge dam at Lalla Takerkoust and it looks like the lake is full of water, which is a good thing.
Parked at a small hotel that caters mainly to paragliders. In fact, we’re concerned about them landing on the roof.

The premises are surprisingly beautiful inside, with an open courtyard filled with a giant orange tree. Fancy tiles everywhere and more soft furnishings than any room can take.

We ordered yet another tagine, which was lovely, but we were joined by a rather persistent cat that was very interested in the chicken.
Tables at knee height also mean that most of the meal will end up down the front of my dress 🤣😳
