We came to this campsite yesterday thinking we’d have a couple of days rest from driving. It’s on the coast north of Essaouira, in the middle of nowhere…but, it has all 5* reviews and is immaculate. Had to make a reservation even, which is very unusual for Morocco.
The sandy, potholed road leading to the campsite is a totally different story and thank God it hasn’t rained or we’d be panicking about getting stuck!

Got all the washing done yesterday and pegged out around our own private gazebo. It has been incredibly windy all the time to the point that the door feels like it will swing off its hinges if you don’t hold it with all your strength.
Braved a walk along the beach this morning – not much around except for a few dozen blue fishing boats. We got really cold and sandblasted so came back to the van for early lunch.
This afternoon, we thought we’d try the pool area and it did seem much warmer as it was more sheltered.
We lasted about an hour and a half then came back to find that despite wearing sun cream, we’ve both turned bright red! 😬 It really didn’t feel that hot but the damage is now done.
Planned to head for Marrakesh tomorrow, but will now have to detour somewhere for a day, so that we can time it right for a visit to the Jardin Majorelle – no tickets available until Wednesday. 🙄
