A late start today as we had forgotten about the clocks going forward thing 🙄 Didn’t wake up until 9:30!
After a relaxing day with Guy’s parents yesterday, walking the dog and trimming trees in the sunshine, we set off on the long haul north.
Trying to avoid most of Les Landes and the very expensive A65, we cut across through Mont-de-Marsan and joined the A63 instead.

Had lunch just after Bordeaux, then carried on up towards Saintes, and out to the coast at Rochefort.
I don’t know why, but we were expecting some little old port town here, but instead it’s quite a big, flat, ex naval base, built in the 17th century. Still quite an attractive place though, but not much open today, it being Easter Sunday. Plenty of people about, mainly walking along the banks of the Charente or around the restored Arsenal and marinas.
Had a drink in the Place Colbert, then decided that we were a bit cold so retreated back to the van.
