Had a walk to the beach first thing – a bit cool, but the white sunlight was beautiful on the sea. We got back on the motorway towards Malmö. After Norway’s incredibly strict speed limits, 70mph feels incredibly fast – even on empty roads.
Stopped for lunch and had another brisk walk through some sand dunes – Skegness is so bracing! 😂
Seemed to reach Mälmo really quickly, getting our first view of ‘the bridge’ from about 30km away. Think after yesterday, Guy would’ve carried on quite happily and driven straight over it. So glad we didn’t, as Malmö is lovely.
A really good mix of old town with cobbled streets and striking new office blocks with plenty of greenery thrown in. It feels pleasant, lively and safe.
Walking through one of the parks, we noticed again, that the Lifebuoys near water are almost always accompanied by a ladder in these parts. We’re assuming it’s for when the lakes are iced over in Winter.
There are hundreds of bikes and electric scooters here. We are so not used to having a two way bike lane to check as well as cars when we cross the road. It doesn’t make for easy city driving either as it’s one more thing to watch out for.
Had a coffee in town – nice place, as they all are. Plenty of designer lamps, furs, wooden floors and art on the walls …all paid for in a days takings! 😂
Back to the van for dinner. We cross the Øresund Bridge tomorrow, to Copenhagen …exciting stuff!
