So cold last night – I think it dropped to 1°! We could have done with putting the winter duvet on. Woken up early by a man and woman having a full on domestic- I thought she was going to kill him 🤣Think they were in an apartment above where we were parked, but it sounded like they were next door.
More steep uphill walking this morning, firstly to a viewpoint that overlooked the town. Stunning view – even National Geographic have put a selfie frame there.
Back down to the van then climbed up the other side into the town which was really busy for a Tuesday morning. Went in the church with a huge dome on top – apparently, the only round church in the whole of Spain. It was originally a mosque though, recaptured from the Muslims, so that explains it.
Onwards and upwards, we followed the path up to the church and castle ruins at the top. Thought I might need resuscitation by the time we fell through the church door! “You can climb the spiral staircase up to the old bell tower” says the nice lady on the desk. Brilliant – just what I need! 🤣🤣🤣”Then, when you come back down I will show you a film of the history.” Err – no thanks 😬
Fabulous views though, and such a lovely town.
We’ve booked in to a motorhome site near Valencia to hopefully see some of the ‘fallas’ festival later in the week. I thought we’d booked in for Thursday but Guy tells me it’s Wednesday! That means two days of very long drives. 🙄
Today’s was ok though. Easy motorway for Guy and the scenery above Granada is absolutely stunning at this time of year. All blue skies and snow capped mountains.
I found us some parking by the sea near Cartagena and we called in at Mercadona for a few bits and bobs including a bumper bag of crisps.
There were already several motorhomes here, but it is out of the way and not disturbing anyone so we decided to stay. Just as we’d got level on the ramps, someone moved from the front row so we did a stealth move and now overlooking the sea. It’s much warmer here too, which is good news.
I’m struggling to get in and out of the van now – I think my calves have seized up from this mornings endeavours. Guy seems to be ok but he’s got it coming in a few weeks time when he gets his bike out! 🤣
The big bag of crisps have completely disappeared – we think we must have left them in the shop! Such disappoint 😠
