Cut across country today to the ancient city of Delphi. The road was brilliant through the mountains. Didn’t expect to see snow on the tops and the wild flowers everywhere just made it quite spectacular.

Arriving at Delphi, there was a big build up of traffic which we were expecting but as we drove down to the tiny carpark, we were told to turn around or we would get stuck! I asked the parking attendant if it was normally this busy and he said “No, but the Prime Minister is coming today as there is an economic conference on all weekend!” No wonder there were police cars everywhere.

We took ourselves off to the nearest lay-by and had lunch overlooking the Gulf of Corinth, with a few suited and booted diplomats for company, oh and some goats and a dog.

Decided to come back Monday when they’ve all gone home. Down the zigzag road to the coast again. We’ve found ourselves in the lovely little port town of Galaxidi.

The restaurants were jam packed this afternoon, again, mainly with people in suits – a spill over from Delphi we think. Add in three coach loads of school children who seem to have acquired some exploding caps from somewhere and it makes for a very lively place. 😂

They’ve now all gone home and the town has returned to normality. We are parked with one of the best views and en-suite too for €0.00. Suppose I should add a few gallons of diesel and a drive shaft into that! 😬
