We’ve actually stayed in the same place today, O Pindo – got such a lovely view out of the window and the sound of the sea to sleep to.

Big bonus from Guy’s point of view is the Gran Camino bike race would be going up the hill we drove up yesterday.
After waking up really late, we went for a stroll around the other side of the bay and walked back across the little headland. It was freezing in the shade and boiling in the sunshine!

After lunch we walked the other way, to the town of Ézaro, then began the steep climb up the hill to find a spot to watch the cyclists come up. I have no idea how we got up there last night in the motorhome, I could barely walk up it. It was 30%!!

The race itself was carnage. There were two motorbike accidents right in the middle of it. The road was so steep they couldn’t go slow enough to film and keep the momentum to stay upright. I stood horrified as a motorbike tipped over in a ditch on top of its riders. No one could help as the race was in full throttle up the hill.

A second motorbike just started rolling backwards instead of forwards with passengers falling off to the side. Still don’t know who won this race but I don’t think I’ve ever watched such a mad event.

Back down in the town there seemed to be about a hundred policemen on motorbikes – it was almost like a rally. There’s so many of them here, I think they should send some to the uk! 😂
