It was quite noisy this morning when three bus loads of people turned up to look at the ‘not ever so exciting’ castle! We set off for Polignano a Mare on the coast just below Bari. We found parking but couldn’t fathom out the parking meter so we risked it. Stunning place with a tiny packed beach 🏖…we went to have a look but no shade for our furry friend. Bought some focaccia for lunch from a little shop in the old town (saw us coming!) then drove out to a headland to eat it. We sat on some rocks with an idyllic view, couple of old blokes fishing and a woman down in the inlet playing a harp of all things…it was lovely. And then this creepy bloke arrives in his van, supposedly going on a bike ride. Asked how long we were staying (we were thinking of overnight but quickly changed it to half an hour). He then proceeded to tell us how different it was here at night in this car park and the kind of things we could see if we hung around 🤭😮. Also, he was an artist but he’d done a course in massage 🙄. Five minutes later we were fifty miles down the road!!!! Drove through a grid of streets in Monopoli but didn’t go back to Old Kent Road. Now, we’re parked at Castellana Grotte and Guy has been on a cave tour but unfortunately he wasn’t allowed to take any pictures after the first cave. 🙁
