What a lovely quiet night on the Great Orme. Really sad that a load of rubbish seemed to have appeared overnight though. If that was someone in a van, I can finally see why Wales has ‘no overnight sleeping’ signs everywhere.
Decided to have a bit of a driving day to give the legs a rest, so we said goodbye to Wales with its rain, sheep, hills, friendly people, rain and more rain. Very grateful for the last four days of sunshine!

Drove around to The Wirral, and headed for Port Sunlight on Mrs Martinscroft’s recommendation. Built by the Lever brothers at the turn of the last century, it was meant to be a model village for its soap factory workers. It’s even named after Lever Brothers most popular cleaning agent! It has no less than 900 grade 11 listed buildings. Nice place to walk around, and I’d say it’s still a model village now – some of the developers of these massive new estates would do well to get some inspiration from it.
After lunch, with a view to heading towards the Lake District on a Friday before bank holiday (I know! Seriously bad planning), we zoomed through the Mersey tunnel only to come to a complete standstill on the M6. Both ready for a rest so it didn’t seem that bad really.

Struggled to find parking, so we’ve landed at the side of the prom in Morecambe. Quite a few vans here and the road is quite busy, but the view is pretty good.
