Noisy night – that wasn’t a quiet autokamp. It may be because we were parked next to the reception.

Went for the first swim this morning..it was lovely – like a bath!

Seemed to have spent the rest of the day driving, so it’s a good job we got some exercise first thing.

Couldn’t decide on the best route – we’re heading towards Lake Shkodra in Albania and thought about going through Bosnia rather than tackling the holiday traffic. Changed our minds at the last minute and stayed on the coast road through Croatia into Montenegro as it’s far more scenic.

Always amazing to go over the new bridge to the Peljesac peninsula – had to do this by ferry the first time we came. Short stop for lunch and then south to Dubrovnik. Guy took some photos with the zoom lens from a lay-by miles away…amazing that you can see how packed the streets are even from there.

Further south we stopped for a walk around the Belvedere hotel complex which is full of bullet and shell holes from the war. I think it’s great that it’s been left there as a reminder of what can happen.

Straight through at the border with a miserable guard having a cursory look through the window, then grunting at us.

By this time it’s late afternoon. The driving standards have plummeted the minute we crossed into Montenegro. We debated our chances of parking at Kotor Bay and decided we might be better off at a viewpoint high above.

It wasn’t as big as we remembered and we decided we’d get moved on if we parked overnight. Back down in the clover leaf shaped bay, the traffic wasn’t too bad until we reached Kotor town.

Pulled into a car park we’ve used previously and the man miraculously remembered us! “Yes, I can find space for you, you’ve been here before!”

So very lucky to get parking here overlooking the beautiful bay …and relax!
