We walked over the bridge and into Saumur this morning. All the local people were out observing the river levels. On the town side, the mighty Loire had claimed several cars and Guy thought that the water level had dropped since yesterday!
Although we only had a quick walk around for some exercise, the town seemed quite nice with its cobblestone streets and little shops, all overlooked by the huge chateau set high above.

Set off up towards Le Mans via every village and roundabout the sat nav could throw at us.
Stopped for lunch in a lay-by as it was raining and miserable out.
Further north, we hit Rouen at rush hour. Think we moved about 3 metres in half an hour. When we finally reached our planned parking, there was no space, so had to rejoin the traffic for another ten miles, but at least we now have a proper motorhome space in a little quiet village.
Still raining. We’re thinking tomorrow should be an easier day as we just have to get along the coast to Calais.
