Left Seville this morning and decided to head straight across to Portugal. We hoped to find a campsite near a beach where we can maybe stay for a week or so. Fancy some beach rather than city for a while. On entering Portugal we immediately noticed the difference in the roads …more pot holes! Drove out towards Tavira but the camping places all seemed to be surrounded by mud flats. Drove on to Olhao – (no idea how to pronounce it) and found a nice campsite for 8 euros per night including electricity 👍 Guy went off to do a recce on his bike and the town is further away than we thought. A big industrial area similar to Colwick on the way in and rubbish lining the streets most of the way. We decided to walk in with Rufus but turned around after passing a mean looking dog that was eyeing him up for a scrap. Rufus said he was too tired anyway after yesterday’s yomp round Seville! Some confusion with time zones …nearly put us two hours back but fortunately Bro informed me that we’re now the same time as England. So, overall not impressed with Portugal so far – and now it’s even RAINING. Any recommendations for campsites in the Algarve anyone?
