The driver was on a mission today so we got on the motorway and headed north. As we hit the mountains, it became cold and grey. 🥲Very depressing after the blue skies and sunshine we’ve got used to.
When we stopped for lunch, a coach load of German pensioners turned up. The driver seemed to feed them all burgers from what appeared to be a kitchen set up in the side of the coach – where you’d normally have luggage.
There was a flatbed truck full of timber parked the other side of us and they all proceeded to use the back of it as a table! We thought it would be quite funny if the driver had returned and driven off with half their lunch. 🤣
We were less than impressed when they started leaning their stuff against our van though. Guy inched forward a couple of feet – I think they got the message.
As we got to the border, there was a surprise passport check. Well, the man waited while I scrambled to get them out of the cupboard, then just waved us through! 🙄
Parked by the ring road in Ljubljana where there are motorhome services included for €10. Nearly 5pm so a bit late to go into town – we’ll do it in the morning. Had a walk around the suburbs instead. Big houses, clean streets and smooth roads – Slovenia is on the up ⬆️
Just starting to realise we are surrounded by a train station, bus station and a four lane super highway – could be a noisy night!
