Rain, rain and more rain today. It was a really scenic drive up to Salzburg with all the cloud hanging low in the valleys – we were just missing the tops of the mountains really, although I think we did go over a few. Lots of climbing up and down, mostly in view of the long straight motorway – I think we’ll probably sort a vignette out next time! 😂
Other than a pit stop for lunch we carried on driving – there didn’t seem to be any point in walking round to get soaked.
As we came into Germany we saw a vignette sign on the motorway but didn’t get chance to read it properly. It sent us into a right spin as we thought autobahns were free. Much investigation followed and in the end we think it’s just for lorries over a certain weight. Phew!
Up to Munich and around the outer ring road, we’ve finally parked up for the night at the Bayern Munich football stadium! It’s only possible to do this when there’s no match on, but today, it’s full of motorhomes!
As the sun had finally shown its face we went for a walk around the outside of it – it’s massive. You could actually get inside at certain places but not to the actual pitch and seating area.
Never been to Munich before, so tomorrow we’ll get the tram/tube in and have a look.
