Couldn’t do the early get up – the sleeping’s not always the best in a lay-by, so we kind of knew that we would be joining a mass procession of people going up and down the mountain side. Having said that, it was a fab day nonetheless as the sun was shining and it was warm.

For once, it really was a walk (albeit a very steep one) not a climb! No scary, could I fall off bits – thank God!

The Llanberis path is supposed to be the easiest route up, but boy is it a long way. We saw quite a few give up and turn around but as it said on the news yesterday, lots of people go up there totally un prepared, especially for the weather which changes really quickly.

We kept thinking we were nearly at the summit, then being totally disappointed as the path turned another corner and ramped up a notch.

When we did finally get to the top, we realised that the crowd of people was actually a 40 minute long queue. I was very surprised when the one that will never queue for anything joined it. 😂 Got to touch the stone thing at the top though or you’ve not really done it! Several people ignored the queue and went up the side of it – it’s a wonder there wasn’t a scrap.

As always, harder walking down than up …especially doing it crossed legged as there’s nowhere to hide! It was about 14 miles in total but it’s taken us all day, from 9:30 till we 5:30 ish but we did stop for a pint at the lovely Penceunant Isaf Cafe at the bottom. They didn’t have a toilet either 🙄😬🤭

  1. Fab pics you two. We climbed Snowdon 2 yrs ago Easter time and thank goodness there wasn’t the crowds you experienced. Sunny climbing up for us then a lovely cloud on the summit!!!
    Enjoy xx

    1. Ha ha …following in your footsteps again! Same for us really – quite warm & sunny walking up but cloud hovering at the top. Better than our last attempt with the boys when we had to turn around as it started snowing 🙄xx
