Well, I fell for it again, just three days later! 😂 The old ‘easy hike for families’ codswallop.
Our day started with a trip into the town to get diesel, LPG and water. Got some really cheap diesel at £1.33 per litre..we thought the pump looked a bit different. When Guy asked about it, we were informed that we’d just filled our leisure vehicle up with tax free diesel meant for agricultural vehicles. 😂”Is that a problem?” says Guy. “Not if you don’t get caught” the man replied. Oh!
Got water from the same garage from the fastest flowing tap ever…the husband got soaked, which is just reward for taking the wife for another climb. Have to say, the views from the top were pretty special and there were children, babies and dogs up there (..it’s just me then ☹️).
Guy was dispatched to do the last bit on his own whilst I had a small sense of humour failure. 😬
We got chatting to a young Norwegian couple from Oslo. Their English is so good; they said this is because they learn it all the way through school, use it at work and all the tv programs apart from children’s are in English. Norwegian has at least three sounds that we find really difficult to pronounce…we gave them a laugh with our attempts.
Coming down was faster than going up thankfully, then back to the van for a much needed coffee. We drove back up the road for about 8 miles just to empty the toilet cassette, as there was nowhere around unless we went on a campsite. This picnic place, in a lay-by has the one and only automated cassette cleaner we’ve ever seen. You just put it on a shelf and press a button (even girls can do it!!???).
Back down the road again, we are now in Kabelvåg, which we’ll explore tomorrow. See below for biggest dog in the world which we came across yesterday.

I knew it, I knew it, girl’s CAN do it……. Claire, your turn.
NO! No of course we can’t – that’s one machine in the whole of Europe I reckon. Women can’t possibly do it manually…we’ve got too much other stuff to do! 😂
Oh no, the cat’s out the bag now. Much too messy. That’s a blue job.
I agree (That first comment was Niall of course, but I reckon you guessed that). Us girls have got to stick together.
