There was definitely the sound of wolves several times overnight. They are apparently present, protected and on the increase! I’d like to see them but glad I’m in a tin box, rather than a tent.
Debating what to do with our day, we decided to stay on the campsite as we’d booked two nights but took the van out for the day.

The Alps seemed to be about an hours drive so thinking it’d be cooler for walking, we set off.
The views of the mountains were really spectacular in places but
it was extremely taxing driving for Guy as the road was single track with passing places. For the most part the other drivers were surprisingly quite courteous considering we were in a big white box climbing up the road. Unfortunately two others seemed to try and get in a convoy with us which wasn’t helpful at all.

After about 45 minutes, we started climbing up quite steeply with plenty of hairpin bends to keep the driver on his toes. Livestock in the road every few miles, starting with cows, then horses, goats and pigs. Quite often they’d upended the dustbins and were treating themselves to a Big Mac and fries! At the top…and we didn’t realise we were at the top, was a small patch of gravel with room for about six cars and nothing else!

Decided to carry on to what we thought was a village (Thethi) further along, but then found ourselves going downhill with nowhere to turn around!
A long time later, we arrived in Thethi and still there wasn’t anywhere to park. We couldn’t work out why there were so many people about when there didn’t seem to be anything there, other than a zip line and a few restaurants.

Managed to squeeze in further down the track and followed everyone else on a path to a waterfall, so at least we got a bit of a walk in eventually.
Back at the van, we knew we’d got a long drive back but it wasn’t too bad.
