Noli

At 4am amid the sound of the howling wind and heavy rain came the unmistakable snorting of a wild boar around the back of the van. Guy woke me up to listen and in my confused state, I asked if he was sure it wasn’t just me snoring. 😴💤
By the time morning came, it all felt like a weird dream. The sun was out, still really windy though.
We set off for a walk around the coast to a little town called Noli which was a couple of miles away. Couldn’t believe the devastation on the beaches again. Rocks, wood and rubbish everywhere and another big clear up operation for the beach bar owners.
Noli was a lovely little town wedged between the rocks. We walked up to the castle first and nearly got blown off the top!
The town itself had beautifully paved and mosaic streets, Had a Sunday Aperol 🍹😍, mainly because we saw the size of the plate of snacks that came with them. Salami, cheese, breadsticks, olives – that’ll do for lunch!
On the way back we called in at the town of Spotorno – equally lovely, but not mentioned in our Rough Guide.
Somewhere along the last mile, the rain started. We both got soaked but actually avoided the worst of it again. Looks like the weather is calming down from tomorrow so hopefully a bit of sunshine next week.
