Woke up when the Skye rush hour started this morning about 7:30 …couldn’t believe the amount of traffic going past.

We’re now on the mainland, in Applecross, looking across to Raasay and Skye – funny that it was the other way round this morning.

It’s been a long old day of driving (for Guy) on the twisty, turny, not very good A roads. Did a slight de-tour once we got over the bridge, to Eilean Donan Castle. Very windy – thought I was going to be blown off the bridge at one point. Good looking castle but didn’t go in …I’ve decided I like them much better from the outside.

Then, we took the long road round to Applecross – not sure why, there’s not much here. Guy reckons it’s more about the journey than the destination 😂…it was, one hell of a journey.

To avoid going east to west over the renowned Bealach na Bar pass (no motorhomes in that direction) we went straight up to Shieldaig then followed the coast road round. It was a bit hair raising in places – especially when a monstrous logging lorry was coming towards us on the single track road. Got up close and personal with a highland coo in one of the passing places. His hair was really blowing in the wind 😂 I was worried about his horns scratching the van.

Parked facing the sea now with a brilliant view, but no phone signal. A couple have just erected a tent on top of their car, then took it down again and drove off. It is very blustery. Felt almost guilty sitting in the warm with a hot meal, glass of wine and heating on 😬Better not put the satellite dish up – think it would turn into a flying saucer!
