Not much to report today as it’s been a long drive along the edge of the Pyrenees, skirting the French border.
Started the day by returning down the hill to Ripoll to get a proper Lidl shop done, then back up the hill to Ribes de Freser to pick up our route over the Collada de Toses, which was pretty high at 1800metres. Spectacular scenery of course, with all the snow on the mountain tops, but the winding roads start to drive you mad after a while.

We had lunch at the top and then carried on via a slightly straighter route through Martinet, Le Seu d’Urgell and Rubió.

Finally, we landed here,in Rialp. Both Rialp and its neighbouring town, Sort, have a fast flowing river running through them and are very popular for rafting and canoeing.
Feels a bit like being in a ski resort.
We walked through the town and over the swing bridge, which swings more than most, up on to the hillside, following a path along the river. We’ve done this before, so at least this time we knew there was a bridge at the other end.

To Rialp 28/3/24
