Packed up our stuff this morning and made our way to the Valle Dei Templi (Valley of the Temples). 3rd and 4th century remains – apparently some of the most important in the world. It was really hot; so pleased Rufus decided to stay in the van with the fan. We queued for ages and then once past security it was a 2km walk each way. Very impressive temples …although I thought they looked better from the road below than close up. Quote of the day (from an American) “ is that a billy goat or like just a regular goat!”🙄🙄🙄🐐Scooted round as fast as we could in the midday heat. We then drove back to the port for lunch, intending to stay all afternoon and overnight. After a read a review about motorbikes riding round at night and damaging motorhomes, we decided to move on again. We were fairly close to the ‘Stair of the Turks’ – an unusual white rocky outcrop. Decided to park in a car park up a steep hill when once again, the bottom of the motorhome did an almighty scrape as it nearly got stuck. No damaged done – we’ve decided to call it the ‘scraper bar’! Guy took a couple of photos from the road instead.
We’ve come to a Camperstop now just a bit further along and paid €10 to a dodgy geezer called Salvatore. Everyone here seems to know each other and they’re now having a mad party 🎉 playing trashy europop on the top notes. The kids are running around shooting each other with plastic guns – at least I think they’re plastic!
Rufus does Europe
Two people motorhoming around Europe with memories of a mad dog

Did l laugh about the goat especially when Niall read it out in the middle of the night when we couldn’t sleep because of the noise!
