We’ve just had three days chez Bramley after spending Tuesday morning searching every butchers in the Gers region for belly pork! Guy wanted to cook his speciality dish for his mum’s birthday. We got some in the end but not before he’d been turned away from a Muslim place with a flea in his ear – whoops 😬

Anyway, we’ve had three days of beautiful warm sunshine although frosty in the mornings. Jean, Guy’s Mum, had a lovely birthday meal and José the neighbour said it was five star 🥂🎂🤩

This morning, Friday, we took the road to Pau, aiming to cross the Pyrenees at the Col du Portalet. After messing around in Pau for half an hour, trying to find a supermarket that was supposed to be one minute away, we started climbing up and over the windy roads. Plenty of snow and fog at the top and bitter cold – a three minute walk blew the cobwebs off 🥶😂

Winding down the other side in Spain we came across this beautiful picnic area with a view of the lake and snow capped mountains. Decided to park up for the night, but now of course it’s raining! 🙄
