Drove into Ålesund and decided to park in a ‘proper’ motorhome park for the night. It’s about £23 with electricity and sea view (+en-suite 😂), so not bad really as it’s in the middle of town. We had read that people queue up to get in here though, as it’s one in, one out. Quite nerve racking as once you’re next in line, a newcomer could drive in and nick the spot you’ve waited patiently for! Think we were lucky as we only waited about twenty minutes.

The town is lovely – pastel coloured three storey houses and shops in Art Nouveau style…because the whole town burned down in 1904! Unfortunately, it was cloudy and drizzling with rain for most of the day.☹️ We felt we’d covered most of it within about an hour, so we climbed up the steps to a viewpoint overlooking the town and then took the long way back. We passed the speciality food market twice, free tastes of everything but nothing really tasted that great!7D8F8EF0-C202-426E-AB51-80422F8E74D2606FD78E-AB1A-4E53-832B-688914D3A95F

About 8:30pm, we suddenly realised it was Friday night, so ventured out for a drink. It was all a bit dead really, ended up in a pizza place just for a glass of wine. Funny thing is, we’ve just come back to the carpark and there’s more life here than anywhere else! All the motorhomies are out with their tables, chairs, candles, wine…we’ve missed all the action. They’d better quieten down soon – it’s my bedtime! 😴FCCE24A4-2567-4451-8073-7E1F4DF93BBD70CA1D73-02C5-48F1-B4A6-32929AA35A0C
