Up and away for nine this morning – it took me a while to get into full ‘co-pilot’ mode around the hairpin bends and tight village streets.
We managed to get to Káthisma beach first. It had the same beautiful blue sea and white cliffs, but a big long beach rather than a cove.
Several beach bars were packing up for the and quite a lot of vans and motorhomes were parked along the seafront. One ‘lorry’ type thing had a fold out deck at the back overlooking the beach. On it sat a very content dog surveying the horizon whilst sporting a pink lampshade!

Aï Nikitas was our next port of call but luckily we had the sense to park on the main road and walk down into it. It was a tiny place with a jumble of streets with little shops. The beach had quite a few people on it but we decided we’d come after lunch, that is, until we were met with a coach load of people armed with chairs and inflatables- don’t think we’d have squeezed in.
After lunch, we were soon back up at Lefkáda town at the top of the island.

Back over the causeway, after some roadworks, we paid to go through a tunnel to save two hours going all the way round the Ambracian Gulf.

The big town of Préveza was really nice. We had a walk along the waterfront looking at all the yachts then meandered around the Saitan Bazaar area which was really pretty and had lovely atmosphere about it.

Looking for somewhere to sleep, we’ve once again landed by a beach on the coast road.
A few minutes after we sat down on the beach, the sun disappeared and the sand flies came out causing early retreat to van. 🙄
