Along the coast this morning to Sagres. Distinct change in temperature purely due to the cold breeze coming off the Atlantic. Henry the Navigator’s fort sits at the headland and as we walked up to it we realised everyone else had jackets, scarves and jeans on. We were so cold we beat a hasty retreat back to the car park without going in! Started to drive north along the coast and called in at Praia do Amado. This was a big sandy beach filled with surf dudes, although most of them seemed to like carrying their board around rather than being in the sea! Fantastic waves coming in but I suspect this was quite a calm day compared to some. The car park was full of vans with people spilling out of all the doors dressed in brightly patterned trousers and tending their dreadlocks.😄 Tried sitting on the beach but we weren’t hard enough to cope with the wind. Tootled a bit further up to Praia da Bordeira where we’ve stopped for the night in a more sheltered spot protected by sand dunes. Guy had a mini bike ride then we went for a walk and watched the kitesurfing…most entertaining.
