Decided to stay put for another day. Thought we’d try the walk over the hill to the next village called Salema. Guy put his walking boots on, which is always a big worry for me as it means it could turn into a full on hike! It didn’t take long at all, and Rufus nearly got a cat 🐈 for his elevenses as we walked down into the village. Thank God Guy was holding the lead ‘cos they were popping out from every doorway, bin and car. Salema was quite a pretty place, not much open but we managed to find a small cafe. Finally, I got a Portuguese custard tart -still warm …very nice! 2 coffees, 2 tarts = 3euros 👍 We went to sit on the beach for ten minutes. Suddenly Guy jumped up. There were dolphins in the sea! About four or five of them leaping out of the water – it was amazing. Unfortunately by the time we got the camera sorted they were disappearing. There’s a couple of pictures, but Mr Bramley informs me he would need a telephoto lens in order to capture stuff like that – bang goes the Norway trip then!😂 This afternoon we came back and sat on the beach near the motorhome but it gradually got colder and windier so in the end we gave up and came back for a game of Scrabble. I won. Just saying. Guy tried to cook some pork chops on the grill outside but the wind was blowing the flame everywhere so they had to be done in the oven. The Glory Chef’s not happy – the fat has to be crisp! 🐖🐖🐖

Still in Boca do Rio
