Set off to have a look at the Limski Kanal this morning, described as a sort of fjord with turquoise water. Drove to a hilltop village on a headland but couldn’t really get close enough to see it properly. Carried on to Porec which we’ve been to before about ten years ago. Today we walked into the old town with Rufus and it was so much nicer than we remembered – was only a flying visit one afternoon previously though. The roads became hellish soon afterwards – we could tell we were getting close to Italy! Really rough and bumpy, causing Rufus to bark and Guy to bark back!…Which reminds me, there was a really nasty dog fight this morning outside our van when a ’Staffy’ launched itself at an Alsatian – so glad Rufus was inside. Called at Lidl, just one more chocolate croissant 🙄, then drove towards the border on the motorway. There was a token passport control coming into Slovenia. The man put our passports in his machine whilst he scrolled through Facebook. It got steadily windier, especially around Trieste when it became really gusty. We zoomed past Venice; think it was rush hour …so many lorries. 02D7CC6A-A336-4D1F-BBCF-823E09DB7FAEDrove on to Verona. Didnt expect to come this far in a day but once we hit the motorway everything happens so much quicker. Been in to the centre to see the amphitheatre and wander round in the dark. 3049060A-388A-4D0E-8FED-0AE70F97DD3AGood job the shops were closed …especially the one selling kitchen gadgets (Guy)! Lasting impressions are: how clean it was, friendly people, stunning coastline with really clear water, beautiful islands, waterfalls and mountains but just a little bit expensive.

Bye Croatia – Hello Italy 🇮🇹
