Cool and grey this morning …what to do? We decided to go to Rovinj, a place I’d been looking forward to seeing, but I knew it wouldn’t look it’s best without sunshine. Parked easily, just about twenty minutes walk from the centre. A beautiful, colourful, old town next to a little harbour. We walked up to the church at the top of the hill and tip toed back down over the shiny cobbles. Feels like Italy already and yet there is Slovenia in between! There are road signs in both languages and a lot of Italian people about. We had been told about a reasonably priced fish restaurant on the harbour, so as it started to drizzle we went in for lunch. It was really nice food and good service – in fact the best we’ve had in Croatia!(😂😂😂 We’ve only had one other meal out!) We stretched this meal out as long as we could as it started to absolutely bucket it down with rain. Even the pidgeons were coming inside, which must be a regular occurrence as no one batted an eyelid. The waiter was feeding one of them like it was his pet!

Still raining as we walked back so sat in the van for the rest of the afternoon feeling we’d burnt out too early. 🙄 Took Rufus a walk and got lost … we were so cold too – think it’s just that we’re not used to it. Better start toughening up or get the thermals out.
