Bit of a driving day today but with the added bonus of sunshine for most of it.
Had a really quiet night and woke up about 7 when a tractor went past …suppose it makes a change from church bells.
Couldn’t believe the amount of huge trucks and lorries on the tiny roads going through villages – we can only assume that the extortionate tolls levied on the motorways has caused this. It’s not too bad for cars but anything bigger attracts eye watering charges.
Stopped at Châteaudun for lunch and managed to time it so that we entered the car park as one thousand school children were coming out! 🙄🤣

Quite a nice little place with English pop music being played through speakers in the shopping streets.
There was a château of course, and a few streets with medieval houses on. Guy thought he recognised the castle but I dismissed it. It wasn’t until we got back and checked the blog that we realised that yes, we’ve been here before but parked on the other side!
On to Loches next, just south of Tours in the Indre valley and we definitely have not been here before.
An attractive old town and citadelle, with churches and a Royal Lodge. I think we were the only tourists around today, but I bet it’s really busy in the summer.
Sadly, the rain returned just before we got back to the van – I think it’s set in again now for the foreseeable.
