Last night after chatting with our Norwegian neighbours, they came to fetch us to see the reindeer in the sea. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see them even with binoculars ☹️ and they soon disappeared. Apparently, they are really good swimmers.
This morning however, was a different story. A knock on the door with a “Good morning, come quick with camera -’reinsdyr’”…and there they were, just standing on the beach. Huge antlers; I was a bit worried about David Bailey at one point, as he was getting a bit close in aid of his art.

Next thing, they just had a meander up through the campsite…unbelievable. It seems they do this most days so aren’t too worried about people.

Such a privilege to see them, I really didn’t feel like cleaning the shower afterwards, but all this excitement is causing my hair to fall out and causes havoc with the plumbing. 😂
The day started off really warm, sunny and breezy but turned to rain almost as soon as we set off.
Stopped at a big supermarket where the ‘cherry incident’ occurred. Just a few fresh items as things will probably get even more expensive on the islands. We thought the cherries in little bags were quite cheap, which is why we bought them. Must have looked at the wrong sign or something as it seems we’ve paid about £7 for them. 😮 I’ll be foraging for dandelions next week to make a thin soup! See offending articles below.
Guy ended up driving most of the day as it kept raining, so no reason to stop. We’re heading towards the Vesteralen islands and have parked up in Evenskjer just south of Harstad (page 66 Dad!) and the sun is trying it’s best to put in a late appearance. 🌞
