Well, the day started off ok when the owner of the rucksack that we found yesterday, rang up and asked if she could come and collect it. She had been in the middle of filming a wedding party and had forgotten it on her way to the main event! She was very grateful to get it back and it saved us a trip to the police station.
We had a ferry booked for 6:30pm and as it was pouring with rain we couldn’t decide what to do. At this point, Guy realised we might need some more LPG. The only place that sells it on Skye was in Broadford – 30 miles south. The alternative was in Stornaway on Lewis. “…Yes, but what if they don’t have any in Stornaway?”
Off we went to Broadford. The beauty of going up and down the same road here is that you get a totally different view when you come back the opposite way. We even wondered if we were on the same road at one point 😂.
Saw a beautiful rainbow along the way – just managed to get a photo before it disappeared.

Got to Broadford. LPG pump out of order 🙄😬…they’re waiting for a delivery. Let’s hope Stornaway has some. Went for a walk along the shoreline while we were there. The rain had stopped and it warmed up.

Back up the road to the ferry port at Uig – what a grim place it is. Still plenty of camper vans and motorhomes around.
We hadn’t realised that the ferry was late leaving, so when we got to Harris at about 8:30pm, it was dark!

From the harbour I saw some car headlights going up into the sky, then quickly realised that was the road we had to go up! Then single track, then fog, then all the parking places were full.
Found a lay-by in the end, thank goodness. Enough is enough, I’m off to bed! 😂
