Rained all night but other than that, there wasn’t a single sound. All looked so much better in the daylight..we were actually overlooking a beautiful beach from our lay-by.
Drove round to Luskentyre beach and it became obvious why we couldn’t find the parking we were looking for last night. There were two graveyards and we were trying to turn left at the wrong one 🙄.

The beach itself was a vast swathe of white sand with very clear water – it reminded us so much of Norway but if the sun had shown its face I think it would have been more Caribbean.
We walked a couple of miles and then turned around when the sea cut us off.

After lunch, we made our way to our booked campsite at Horgabost but then decided we’d carry on to see the south of the island whilst we were in the van.
Not a lot here other than outstanding scenery. There’s a few big white houses dotted around – have to wonder what they all do! Although, we did see a couple of people cutting peat. A few of them have a couple of ‘camping pods’ in the garden – they might be a groovy shape, but they are just sheds to sleep in at the end of the day. 😂
The roads were a bit tricky especially when we decided to loop back round on a ‘C’ road. Middle of nowhere…I’ve never felt so far away from home! The sheep didn’t want to move either, which makes me think that no one uses the road.

Eventually, we made it back to Horgabost, found our pitch, then went for another beach walk. It had turned a bit cold though so back to the van to batten down the hatches.
